Comics for Cure 2009

The AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY SKETCH CARD BENEFIT AUCTION goes live March 28, 2009 at 8:00 pm.

SKETCH CARD BENEFIT AUCTION AND GALLERY SHOW FOR AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY

There will be a public exhibition at Comics 2 Games, Florence, Ky location on April 4th 2009. The auction of all the original art cards will go online starting the week before the Sketch Card exhibition and will end that evening. All proceeds from the sale of the cards will go to the American Cancer Society.

Bob and Mike Hickey, founders and owners of Blue Line Art, are organizing this fundraiser in honor of Bob’s wife Katie, a breast cancer survivor. Blue Line publishes Sketch Magazine and Graphic Novel Scene and sells Blue Line Art boards to both comic book companies and individual artists. The Hickey family has long been aware of the generosity of the comic book community. All involved are looking forward to another successful event that celebrates the diversity of comic book artists’ unique talents and their heroic spirit of helping those in need.

MSU Comics Forum & Sketches

Over weekend I went to Michigan State University Comics Forum and I really have good time. It was so much stuff I learns from David Petersen and other comic book artists. Now I fully complete understand what is lifestyle like work in comic books world. http://www.comicsforum.msu.edu/

Michigan State University Comics Forum 2009

I'm going to attend this event tonight and tomorrow.


About: Held every year on the beautiful campus of Michigan State University, The Michigan State University Comics Forum is an an event that brings together scholars, creators, and fans in order to explore celebrate the medium of comics, graphic storytelling, and sequential art.

Another Sylar drawing for contest

Here is another Sylar I draw for contest in Sketch Magazine community forum. I draw on Canson 9x12 drawing paper with graphic pencils. I was so proud thats I can male face and right hand was most challenging to draw. However I receives most valueable lesson from good friends Rick and Jay. I continues learn draw anatomy prespectives and getting better one step at time. Stay tune for more updates tomorrow. Thanks

Sketches 3/10/2009

Here are couple sketches I did today at work during breaks. I use 0.7 mechnical pencil HB lead on notepad. On left, I called Weakness of Superman for Death of Superhero contest at Sketch Magazine community forum for fun. On right, rough sketch of Dark Archangel for my comic book. I will practices more on the wing and anatomy well.

Personal goals

Here are my personal goals from now until next three years. Got have personal goals!

This year 2009 - I’m getting my wonderful talent back into shape and back into drawing again. I have a lot of "how to do draw" book to read and a lot of practices. Also going to try goes few comic con, may not this year.

In 2010 - I will continues practice and goes to some comic conventions in Detroit area. There are possibilities I go to LCC take some classes for Photoshop and other type softwares. I was told it is my turn goes back to school by my wife, lol. But we'll see how our financial likes...

Finally, in 2011 - I going to try release my first comic book series or graphic novel and hoping have a lot of fans...

Weekend Sketches

Here are couple sketches from weekend that's we don't have internet over weekend AGAIN.

Untitle creature I doodle last Friday evening. I was just doodle on my work notepad, really don't know what is it, what am I use for and just came out of my imagination. For now will be in my notes pile and uses the creature for my comic down road.

More sketches from today and yesterday. I was messing around with symbols for my comic book. First one was freehand sketching with ballpoint pen on my work notepad. Second was freehand sketching with Faber-Castell artist brush pen on my mini sketchbook while I waiting in dentist office for get my teeth cleaning.
